Moultrie Game cam M80XT

Recommended Posts

Impressed with Moultrie M80XT Gamecam borrowed from buddy. Put out last night at -3F. 96% Battery. Went through the night to -13F. Retrieved cam due to concern batt life after cold night. 24 hours. Batt 90%. Nuff said. I need two cams for myself, and am very impressed with cold weather longevity. Question...Is this typical. What Cameras do you guys use?

Best Game Camera for $200 or less? What features are most useful and which ones are just fluff. I new at this cam business , what should I pay attention too?

I have seen a Moultrie sit in the woods all winter from gun hunting and still snap a photo in April.

I have 2 of the Moultrie camera's and have been very happy with both units.

I use to use Cuddybacks and spent twice the money whenh they first came out and got sick of them fast as they had many issues.

I have an m100 with the preview screen... and a set of lithiam ion batteries lasted me a full year... used it in the winter on bait piles, and then a fair majority of the summer for a security camera at a place we where remodeling... I have not had it out now this winter as I have not set any bait piles yet..

A 1 night soak is not an indicator. You really get an idea of how a camera works based on how many pics it can take in that weather. I've been really impressed with my Primos 46 ultra. I can get 1000 pics in 2 weeks on a set of batteries in the winter weather. During the summer, that same camera would go 2-3 months even taking video and in "plotwatcher" mode.
