Magnarson
Impressed with Moultrie M80XT Gamecam borrowed from buddy. Put out last night at -3F. 96% Battery. Went through the night to -13F. Retrieved cam due to concern batt life after cold night. 24 hours. Batt 90%. Nuff said. I need two cams for myself, and am very impressed with cold weather longevity. Question...Is this typical. What Cameras do you guys use? Best Game Camera for $200 or less? What features are most useful and which ones are just fluff. I new at this cam business , what should I pay attention too? harvey lee
I have seen a Moultrie sit in the woods all winter from gun hunting and still snap a photo in April.I have 2 of the Moultrie camera's and have been very happy with both units.I use to use Cuddybacks and spent twice the money whenh they first came out and got sick of them fast as they had many issues. Powerstroke
A 1 night soak is not an indicator. You really get an idea of how a camera works based on how many pics it can take in that weather. I've been really impressed with my Primos 46 ultra. I can get 1000 pics in 2 weeks on a set of batteries in the winter weather. During the summer, that same camera would go 2-3 months even taking video and in "plotwatcher" mode.
harvey lee
MY one Moultrie, I had 2,778 pic's from Sept 1st to 3 weeks later. I have also had hundreds of photo's over the 3 month winter.
Powerstroke
When I was shopping it came down to the Moultrie and the PRimos. My post shouldn't be looked at as being against the Moultrie. I think they are good cameras. I was just saying leave it out for two weeks and see your results.
