Where so you get supplies?

Recommended Posts

I am just about to start my first build and I think I am going to like rod building as a new hobby. I am curious to where all you seasoned rod builders buy your supplies? I am also still looking to buy a cheap rob dryer. I don't have any tools or scraps to make my own so buying is my only option. Any suggestions? I have seen a couple on the big online auction site for around 40 bucks. Is that too cheap? With shipping I would be looking at around $60. Is there any stores that have them for that much money?

Thanks in advance guys.

I think the Big auction site would be a start to decide if its something you want to do Theres a couple on there shipped for $45 or so and it would give you a good idea if you needed to build your own in the future. As far as building supplies theres Thorne Janns Mudh*le and few in the south metro area as well.

Mudhole

Thorne Bros (though finding some thread colors are hard)

regardless of where you buy I highly recommend you put a list together of what you believe you need prior to ordering (been there did that and waiting on something you forgot and ordered afterwards can be a tad frustrating in the middle of a project) especailly if you try wraps and/or weaves.
