Vexila issues

My old Vex FL-8 is starting to act up. It works fine most of the time, but when changing depths or adjusting the gain or just bumping it wrong The colors become weak and I get a lot of interference it seems to come back to normal after a bit. Any thoughts of what is causing this? Brushes, Transducer, battery, or a short on the knobs?

Brushes and everything that is electrical is showing age. I heard if you bring it to the " motor clinic" they can fix er up in no time

With the weak colors, it could be a battery or brush issue. Interference is more likely caused by your transducer.

I would suggest cleaning your brushes and see if anything changes. There are some good videos out on how to clean them.

If you have another battery, give it a try or borrow one from a buddy.

After doing both of these with no luck, I would replace the transducer. Keep in mind, that if you are experiencing interference while fishing with the same person, it could be their transducer as well.
