Propane tip (ACME style fittings)

I have been using a big buddy for years and finally ran into a problem that had a simple fix.

I couldn't get my buddy to light and after so many years of problem free service I couldn't believe it was the heater. I just had my tank filled so I new it was full. I use the regulated RV hose so I didn't think there could be a problem with contamination or plugging.

With the hose connected using the ACME connector I noticed the regulator moved really easily. I had the suspicion that the ACME connection had worn out and I was right. With everything hooked up I wasn't getting any flow through the hose. I removed the ACME fitting from the regulator and installed it on the tank. There was still no flow through the fitting.

I picked up a new fitting from Menards (about $7), installed it, and everything is back to normal.

Just thought I would let you all now that these fittings apparently can wear out and hopefully save you from a cold trip on the ice.
