2010 Dodge Ram driver's side headlight

Recommended Posts

So a couple weeks ago my high and low beams quit working on the drivers side then started working again then quit working again. I had to take my truck into the dealer today to get a recall done so I had them look at the headlight. 3 hours later they still didnt have it figured out. They want me to bring it back for the day said it might be the TIPM its about a $850 part. Anyone heard of this or have any suggestions for me to try out before i end up haveing to bring it back. Thanks.

TIPMs are fairly common. (Totally integrated power module) think of it as a fuse box with a computer. For whatever reason when it detects a fault in a circuit it shuts the circuit down (like fuses weren't good enough). Occasionally once the circuit is repaired the TIPM needs to be told everything is ok with a factory scan tool before it "turns" the circuit back on.

If there is no fault in the circuit than I would also assume that the TIPM is the problem.
