South Dakota fishing hunting season?

Thinking about a South Dakota pheasant hunt/fishing trip before Christmas just wondering how are there licenses does there fishing license last 365 days or does it expire a certain date like MN also the Pheasant season can I split the two five day periods between this year and next year?

I can't speak to the fishing license, but for your pheasant license you purchase 2 - 5 day periods. You are able to carry over a 5 day period if you purchase after December 15 (confirm this date on their HSOforum). I always buy my license online since you can set the dates yourself. One word of caution, if you buy it for this year make sure to set you second 5 day period to January 2014 or you risk losing it if the date passes (I know from experience). annual fishing license expires jan 31st. you could buy a non res 3 day fishing license if you wanted.
