Hot price alert.  Was talking to a butcher today and he told me that for tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday only Cubs will be having Beef chuck roasts, tip roasts, and bottom round roasts for $2.99 lb.  Don't know if this will be a radio ad or something in the mail or what but it's a good deal.  I know I will get some.  good luck.

thanks RH.

I've become almost addicted to checking out the Manager Special items that need to be sold in a day or two at Cub and Rainbow.  I may need to get a bigger family for all the deals I come upon.  Some days it's slim and some days it's a treasure trove of good deals.

So my favorite store is having their bi annual meat sale for the next 10 days.  Only place i know of that i can spend 44.00 a pound for filet steaks.  So naturally i have to eat hamburger.  I will take some pictures and get some prices for you all to compare the cost of living in Phoenix vs. Minn.

One question i have is i see many of you buy the tubes of ground beef.  Is it as good as fresh ground?  I have always been leery of it, no reason just have.

jmd1,  Nothing wrong with tube type ground beef.  I buy it all the time.  Nothing is added to it and it is pure ground beef.  They formulate the percentage of fat at the plant.  So if it says 80% lean it has to meet that percentage or higher.  good luck.

My store is a family owned business that has stores in the lower economic areas of town, mid scale for those who make a bit more, and then a hand full of stores for the 1% folks.  I go to the lower economic areas usually as i can get the cheap cuts that most of the mexicans use in their recipes.  i do like to take pictures of the high dollar meat just to show others the drewl coming out of my mouth.

I

Along with this cub still has chuck roast for $2.99 (ask the bustch to point out the cut with the chuckeye in it)) .

Also chuckeye steaks for $3.49. To me chuckeye is just as good as ribeye . All  gitty to see these prices.

Oh! What to do? Smoke the roast first or do up the chucke
