Andrew Erickson
My girlfriend has a cabin on this lake and I just found out there are muskies in there. How is it? Does this lake open up on the 1st or 2nd opener Any tips on how to fish this lake would be awesome! thanks
Nick Kuhn
Cedar would open up Memorial Day weekend. It is an interesting beast for muskies. The southwest bay will almost always have fish prowling it: however depending on weed-growth it may or may not be fishable. There are cribs scattered everywhere along the break lines, and I've caught a fair number of pike trolling along the breaks and through the cribs but I've never caught a muskie doing so. I've really only had much success in the fall, when you can catch them pretty much anywhere you find a weedbed along a dropoff. Midsummer as best I can tell they sit i the deeper water off the breaks a ways.
