muc33
Sorry been busy for a few days, no Hummingbirds yet, but boy the Orioles showed up in droves. I have had as many as 7 at one time at my feeders! Hope to get some pics soon. Darn work keeps getting in the way!
NilesBayHusker
We just saw a hummingbird now in Northern MN. Time to get the sugar nectar out. How do you guys feed birds with jelly? is there a special jelly feeder? can you just put come on a platform feeder?
Dotch
I have a jelly feeder with 2 little bowls that fit into holes cut in a piece of wood. Has a little roof over it. Hangs in the tree here although it could be pole mounted too.
Jim Almquist
We finally got a pair of Hummingbirds to show up today and a bonus pr of Rose Breast Grosbeaks.
Wayne Ek
We had one Oriole show up Monday. Has very little interest in the Oriole feeder or jelly bowl. But I see this male on the suet feeder constantly.

IA4PATS
Not really news the they are in the Madison Lake area, but it's great new for me. We opened our seasonal camper this weekend and I put these two feeders out Saturday morning. By the end of the day I had several different Hummers stop for a drink and this Oriole and a "prettier" male that was more camera shy. Jim Almquist
Beautiful background for all of your very nice shots. The light green brings out the colors in all of the shots. Thanks for sharing Terry!

Jacob
Anyone know a good hummingbird feeder that doesn't leak and holds up decent?
MootScoot
Revival. Who's going to get the first sighting this year? With the crazy weather pattern, I wonder if they'll still be back in a week or so.
Dotch
I dunno. Just saw the first barn and tree swallows of the season this morning. They had been here over a month already by now last year. Thanks for the reminder tho. My oriole nectar feeder biffed it last fall so I need to replace it.
eyeguy 54
Been using these for a long time. I cup water, 1/4 cup sugar and a little red food color. Time to get them out I guess
harvey lee
Sounds like I need to get my oriole feeders out.I take a pint canning jar, fill it with water and sugar with a little orange or red food coloring, both seem to work as well. The birds will land on the lip of the jar and if the fluid gets low, they will crawl right in the jar and drink.I put the jar on 2 screws on the bottom corners and then with a screw about 6 inches above, I wrap a wire around the opening lip and tie it to the screw. Never had it fall off yet. They seem to like the jar better than the grape jelly.I also put out 4 trays for grape jelly. I typically go through 2 quarts of grape jelly per week and fill the pint jar a few times at least.I get ton's of them.
IA4PATS
Been using these for a long time. I cup water, 1/4 cup sugar and a little red food color. Time to get them out I guess I may be wrong, but I have read that you are not supposed to use red food coloring because it's bad for the little guys. I have a similar feeder and never use food coloring and seem to get plenty of birds. Has anybody else heard of this?
eyeguy 54
just an old rumor that red dye is bad.
