Colt_45
Trying this again as the Mods only read the title and not the body.Pilot lights, stays lit but won't fire up and heat. apparently my vent screw??? next to my pilot/on/off knob fell out on the previous owner. Can someone point me in the right direction for a replacement (locally) or maybe a pic of theirs so I know what I am looking for in the house, been sealed up since it broke. It is a chamberlain direct vent 14k BTU, m# 1403621 others may be similar and help see what I should be looking for. It is about 15 year old heater, house isn't it is about 8 years old. Eelpout08
Vent screw should be have a large (in relation to the threads) slotted head and will be roughly 1/4" long, if im thinking of the same screw as you are. you may be able to get one off any gas valve, i would call a few heating shops, they should have an old furnace or two laying around this time of year. i could be wrong but im not sure that will keep the main burner from lighting. if that doesnt fix it the first thing i would do is jumper the thermostat at the gas valve to rule out a bad stat or wires, then start checking all the safety switches.
