What's the difference between these two Marcum VX-1 Pro?

Can someone tell me the difference between these two marcums. I know they are the same name with a different case. I know the gray case is old and the red case is the new one. I've read both the description and can't seem to find the difference. I just bought it two months ago from FF on sale for my husband because he's starting to steal my Humminbird . I've been waiting to get it on the ice. I'm very excited, but I don't know if I should've bought the one with the red case.

While I don't know for sure, I think the mount and bag are probably the only differences. If the gray one sits upright in a 5 gal bucket (smaller base), I think it would be beneficial to most.

The link didn't come up but I'm guessing you are looking at an older unit before the VX-1 got the red case like its big brothers. Used to be the VX-1 had a gray case and the LX-3 had a red case as did the LX-5. Same unit only in a more fashionable case. wink

600 watt VX-1 didn't used to come with any Gray case, just the black holder. The Gray case had to be purchased separately ( I know, I had to do this)

1000 watt VX-1 Pro they started out including the Gray case.

This years 600W VX-1 model now comes with the Red case like in the FF add.

I don't know what color case the 1000W VX-1 Pro is coming with this year, probably the red one as well.
