Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

You know what we all love...

When you enchant people, you fill them with delight and yourself in return. Have Fun!!!

New ND Record Mulie?

Hard to tell the truth about anything on the net these days, but this is a bruiser no matter how you look at it.

Here's his story...

Saturday morning- saw buck feeding out in field with 3 otherbucks, watched him for over 1 hr in my spotting scope, got some pictures through the vortex, which are attached. I knew from the first second I saw him he was a true giant but never had him pinned at what he actually scored! I

watched him bed down, went in for the sneak through the standing flax, Got within 43

yards but when he stood up he walked straight away and I had no shot with the bow.

Saturday night, went back to the field just to make sure he was still around and he was right where I saw him last. Left him for the night Sunday morning- Went out with Mike Gebhard and he was in the same field and the night previous, waited over an hour for him to bed once he

did, we tried the stalk again, well we did get in closer, got within 32 yards waited a bit and he stood up and did it to me again, walked straight away! NO SHOT!!! My heart sank for a second time in 2 days ! What an amazing buck to watch at 32 yards!

Monday morning - I had to be responsible for a couple days and go harvest so I did a drive through the area on the way to the farm and he was again in the same field! There was no wind so it wasn't as hard leaving him there to go harvest.

Tuesday - WINDY and I was harvesting!!!

Wednesday - planned on going to office in AM then harvesting in PM but I had

to try and find him if I could, I was more then a little consumed by this buck! Well he was in the same field again, he was the most predictable buck I have ever seen, which I was good with. I again spent some quality time with my vortex spotting scope. This time I made sure I knew which way he bedded down so I would be broadside when he stood up. I left my truck at 8:15 and went for the stalk. Half way in the smaller buck with him stood up and ate for a bit so I layed down and let him bed up again. Well this time I got to 28.5 yards and he had no clue I was there, wind in

my face, laying broadside to me, now just the patience game, he put me to the test, I was there for over 2.5 hrs kneeling in mud waiting for him to stand. The smaller buck got up again and milled around for probably 20 minutes then the moment of truth, he finally stood up! I was ready and drew and put an arrow in him!

He didn't go 130 yards and 5 minutes later he was dead, I didn't get back to the truck till 12:45 so safe to say I didn't make it to the office or harvesting at all that day. He was one of those deer that actually grew as I walked up to him!

Gross non typical score - 259 1/8

Gross typical frame - 211 7/8

Net typical frame - 207

Total net non typical - 254 4/8

BUSTED: Story is true...except for the location. Deer was shot in Saskatchewan. A quick search of the internet will confirm. Same deer was also claimed to have been shot in Kansas.

While this particular story about ND is a hoax, I have seen it mentioned on another site that there was a mule deer shot during the gun season in ND that is supposed to make a push at the state typical record. It sounds like it has some legitimacy to it, but I have yet to see pictures posted online (which in this day-in-age, seems like it might be a good idea if you happen to shoot a giant as it seems like everyone wants to speculate that you've done something illegal).

    • First possum I've ever seen in my yard..
    •   Member of ADVRider. Rode with lots of guys on there. I just put out a feeler on here once in a while.
    • You ever check out Lots of guys in your area.
    • I am no expert either but putting my trust in the builder. Talking to him, there will only be enough lumber to screw the sheetrock to. There will be no 16" on center studwalls. He has done several like this with no problems. The "Gurts" are attached to the poles and you could saw the poles off at the bottom and move the whole building.
    • Like Leech said, it appears that a grant in aid trail is running through your area. I would urge you to contact the club president or another representative and try to work out a solution. They may be able to even re-route the trail to avoid your driveway but you will not know unless you engage in a civil discussion with a representative of the club. Just let them know you have concerns and see if an agreement can be had.    I would be surprised if the club doesn't have a landowners event every fall that you could attend and talk to club members as well to keep reminding them each year of your concerns.
    • Forgot this was a day game, missed it but happy we got the two points. We have been holding our spots and even have some games in hand on some other teams. If we can just keep this pace up we are in, but here is hoping we get hot towards the end of the year. Would be nice for a change.
    • Nice win this afternoon on the road...things are getting interesting....need others to keep stumbling and we may not have to worry about a Wild Card.
    • That's the problem in restrictor plate races--stay on the gas and hit the car in front or lift and be hit from behind.
    • No doubt!   We didn’t have to wonder if there was actual contact though after Dillon said he had a run and just stayed in the gas.   Is what it is.  And that’s the difference I noticed.
