DTro
FYI, there was a ton of snow up on the Iron Range this past weekend, and I heard they got a bit more after I left.People were out riding but one dude broke through on a beaver dam back in a swamp on the arrowhead trail and had to be rescued. Use a little caution.....but the snow is there for sure.
jellio
Here's a link to the dnr HSOforum...doesn't have info on grant trails but the all the parks are listed and should give a little insight if your going to a certain area. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/snow_depth/index.html#438 The map is interactive
fisherchick
Iron range and north are REALLY wet in the swamps. We (I am in a snowmobile club and do a little grooming myself) are PATIENTLY waiting for the swamps to freeze. The best thing we can do is go and run them ONLY IF SAFE!!!!!! To try to get them frozen enough for the groomers. Pretty dangerous though, if you don't know the area, swamp, or depths of the "holes".....pray for some cold weather!!
