Railroad Tracks and Hiking Trails Sup. NF

Recommended Posts

Tried deer hunting for the first time in the Superior NF this past weekend. They had hiking trails marked going over railroad tracks. When we got up top the tracks there were no trespassing sings on them? Seems like people go right over the tracks even with the no trespassing sings. Why does the forest service put a trail on a map and on boards showing them going over a set of tracks that have no trespassing signs on them? Seems kind of odd to me and a bit confusing or is that just me? Seems like the four wheelers pretty much have the run of the place. Is it when in Rome do as the Romans and everyone does it so it's not enforced? Seems like there's a lot of old growth and any where there's a clear cut there's four wheeler tracks and concentrations of people.

i can only speak for myself but.... when i bear hunted up in that area i was told that signs you're talking about are simple for the Railroad. u can't drive your ATV down them. you can cross them per the trail you are following.
