Fishin' Magician
The fishing out of Algoma has been pretty good for this time of year. Not a lot of charters have been out but the ones that have are catching 6 to 12 per trip. Again not bad for this early. Catches have included Kings, Steelhead and a few lakers. The fish seem to be settling into their summer pattern which means your North/South troll has been working in that 70 to 120 ft range. If that doesn't work do the out to 200ft and back to 100ft troll. My best setup has been the large Coyote flasher and Aqua Glow Frog on the lead core (all 10 colors out). Most of the fish taken have been coming on the flasher fly combo with some being taken on various spoons. There are some steelhead around so make sure you troll some high lines with your bright colored spoons.Watch more videos here at HSOshow Click Here For Lake Michigan Salmon and Steelhead Adventure. End of the Line
Anyone got a little update for us? Coming out there late Weds and will be fishing through Sunday. Are the steelhead still available for targeting or is it turning more into a Chinook bite already? Thanks
tunrevir
My buddy has a boat out there and goes out nearly every weekend. He said they are getting plenty of kings and the bows are mixed in up top. If you can find any slicks while on the water just troll along the slicks and you'll get plenty of bows. Standard red/orange spoons up high usually produce off boards for us. Good luck out there and give a report when you get back. I just broke out all of my gear last weekend and started going through it getting ready to make the pilgrimage.Tunrevir~

Fishin' Magician
With the start of the planting of salmon and trout in Lake Michigan, Algoma is famous for its trophy catches of trout and salmon. Salmon 30 pounds plus continue to be caught here as well as huge Brown Trout in the 30 plus range.Fishing is good.
