cleaning a vex

Open it up, blow it out with a can of Electronics Air Cleaner, to rid it of carbon dust produced by the brushes over time.

Wipe the inside of the dial case assembly with a non alcohol based cleaner and one that is oil free...a light solution of Dawn Dish soap and plain warm water is a good choice as it will not leave any oily residues behind to attract future dust to the dial assembly.

Cleaning the brushes themselves is easy to do and can be seen on the Vexilar web site in the tips section. I recommend you do it and blow off the assembly and head unit well with the canned Electronics Air Cleaner afterwords.

The dial will be much brighter again and the brushed will have better contact. You will notice the difference immediately.
