Perch fishing on Devils Lake in ND

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been out to Devils Lake in ND? I am looking for info such as best time of year, average size, resorts, etc. I say a photo of a guy holding a nice perch and it was caught on Devils Lake. Thanks gang-Swill

See my post below (DL Good Day!!). There aren't a whole lot of folks fishing DL right now, and it will probably stay that way for a bit with the warmer weather expected the next few days. Once the ice thickens, more people will be out and you'll start seeing more reports. Fishing DL can be spotty at times. For instance, day I mentioned in my other post, I heard a report from others fishing the same bay, and they had a very slow day. You really need to be willing to move if you're gonna catch fish some days on DL, and that can mean not following the "crowd".

Swill, E-mail me and I'll give you some info as to resorts. I don't like giving that here.

As to the best time of the year, March is the busiest. Book ASAP if you plan to come then. Things are filling up fast as far as guides and resorts go for that month.

My best advice is to fish when you can. Trying to target the best bite can be very disapointing.
