Hunting Early Season Geese Over Water....Decoy setup?

Recommended Posts

Yes small groups.....Also when a family group is on the move they will swim in a perfectly straight line....put your sentry heads on the first and last decoys in the line....them are the adults! Watch live geese you'll see this.....also after shooting into a flock, DO NOT run out to get them, keep calling at the left over birds, they are very prone to coming back for another look.....Mom and Dad looking for the little ones...or vice versa!

last year I did a couple of line just like divers side by side and set on the tail end of it as the geese always land short of the decoys. it worked very well the came right in oh and I always throw 1 or 2 decoys next to each other behind the lines as if they just landed and are swimming in to the lines. about 10yds behind then sit behind them. hope its not to confusing
