Sunglass Recommendation for fishing

SkunkedAgain

Question

I've always used cheap sunglasses that did not have polarized lenses. I want to get a decent pair of sunglasses for fishing/boating. I'd prefer to spend somewhere in the $50-$100 range that do a good job of protecting my eyes and also help me see the fish.

Any recommendations on brands and models?

Used to be cheapo guy with polarized sunglasses, then I bought my first decent pair. They lasted a little over three years, far longer than any other sunglasses I've had. Now that I know I can keep a pair of sunglasses that long without ruining them, I'm sticking with the better brands.

As with anything I buy, I try and not pay full price. If it's not on sale this week, it usually will be at one point or another. Sunglasses are one of those items that if you search around and don't need it right at this time, you can find some killer deals.

I saw a pair that I liked this spring, but the $210 price was just way too much for me. So I made my old sunglasses last a few more months. My patience paid off, I picked up that same pair of sunglasses on clearance for $65 a couple of weeks ago. Keep your eyes open, this is a good time of the year to find deals on shades.

I got my Serengeti scrips through my Flex account. I could have just got shades too but I now need both. As far as most eye Doc's are concerned...protecting your eyes from sun is medical and preventative medicine, especially if you say your light sensitive. wink

Now if I can ever squeeze my @#% money out of the Flex account guys, I'll be a happy camper. Man they dink around, 4-10 weeks here and than they discover something was overlooked..simple deal my signature didn't go through well enough on the submission sheet over the fax.. took them 14 days to discover that..so..send it in again....but this time I requested a confirmation the Fax was "Good"...more waiting..ya..fax looks good.. close to a weeks for that confirmation....not a fast process by any means. Still no check by the way. So far.. I'm not all that impressed with this Flex deal..Eh.

Unless you're a millionaire or just won the lottery, you should go with Sea Striker* good quality, polarized, many different styles similar to Costa! I currently have 3 different pairs spent less than one pair of Costa. Google them. Anyone else wear them?? I love mine!!!

I will second the Sea Strikers for those on a budget. They are in the $15-25 mark and are a great pair of sunglasses for the price. They have solid, hard lenses instead of the cheap plastic ones that easily scratch. I think I got mine at Fleet.
