Radisson canoe or other lightweight

Recommended Posts

I want a lightweight, cheaper aluminum canoe so I can transport and handle easier myself. I finally decided on a Radisson when I found out they were pieced together and I know a fellow that has one who says it leaks a little. (I hate fishing with wet feet). Has anyone else had this problem with the Radisson. Does anyone have any other recommendations. I have been looking for a used canoe under $400. Thanks.

According to what I have read, you would be better off with a Meyer Sportspal - it's the American "cousin" to the Radisson, but has heavier aluminum in the hull. I've read reports of the Radisson hull getting holes and dings very easily, due to the very thin aluminum in the hull.
