I'm curious

So i work just across the lake at Hazeltine (hole 15) and I wonder what would happen if I was to take a kayak or canoe to work and paddle over to the green there.

Do they have it bouyed off or anything?

Seems like there is really nothing they could do.

Plenty of restrictions there so I'm almost sure you wouldn't make it far.

You would get hounded by the local police till you moved away and off the water. Picture and stuff in today's paper about that. I was thinking about bringing the RP over and use the trolling moter and camp out by the 16th green myself, grilling, tossing back a few grin

I also read that there is quite a few plainsclothed FBI personel wondering around as well.

I guess I don't see the jurisdiction there.

Could be one of those well its a special situation so we can detain and hold you for 2 days with no reason....that would lead to missed fishing time...

Somehow, I would bet it would mean some time with the police or security.

Never been to Hazeltine but based on where it looked by the blimps flying over the course, would it have been the new Chanhassen school? There's another new school just south of that one as well.

But in regards to taking a boat on the lake, they talked about what you CAN'T do during the Tourny and taking a boat on the water to watch was one of them. They said the Sheriff's Dept would be there to great you.

Was watching the tourney on Thursday afternoon on TNT. There was a couple of kayaks on one of the holes (cant remember which one)

I was thinking kayaks would have been perfect for a sneak approach.

That school is the new Chanhassen school and it is a Monster!

They were just commenting on some folks in canoes on the 15th or 16th "in the cheap seats".

Let's go Yang!

Did anybody catch the article in the paper yesterday about the merchandise sales for this event? I found it interesting that Tiger picks out his clothes a year in advance so that Nike can produce replicas of his shirts to sell at the events. You could purchase the polo shirts he wore on each of the four days of the PGA Championship.....at $90 a pop!....and they were pretty much sold out every day. What recession?

I found it interesting that Tiger picks out his clothes a year in advance

I have always heard that Nike tells him what he will wear. (Not his choice)

I doubted this for a while but after hearing year after year from different sources I guess I believe it.

From the article it said he gets a choice of 100 options and he never wears shirts with stripes or solid colors back to back for whatever reason.

He does seem to always wear a red shirt on the last day of each tour.

    • Money to be made, and the cold war (you remember the cold war, right?) was the reason we did various things.    Go read about Stalin and his successors to see why we were worried about the Soviet Union.   What we did might or might not have turned out like we hoped but that doesn't change what the situation was.
    • Dave, your economist wants immigrants to meet requirements like posting a bond or having assets.  Why should they do that when they can just come in with nothing through the porous borders?   Isn't the argument about open borders vrs controlled immigration?   Would the 11 million undocumented have to go back home and post a bond?     If the US through its political process decides to allow immigrants, that's cool.    But that is not what we have now.   Better pick that mike back up.
    • I'm still trying to figure out why we pushed the coup in Ukraine, other than to cause trouble of course.
    •   Ditto, almost exactly the same. I wouldn't spend a ton of money on decoys if your just starting.
    •   To tell you the truth. I have never cleaned a cottontail ever that didn't have flees all over them in the winter. So I just stop hunting them and went for Snowshoes which are bigger and never found flees on them, oddly?
    •   Seems the hares are down from when I was younger but the cottontails seem plentiful enough. I popped these with a 20 gauge shotgun while grousing
    • I use to go for Snowshoes a lot in the winter with a scoped 22. It was fun sneaking through the pines looking for them. See the little black eye and "bing".  Seems like they just fell off the face of the earth for many years so I just gave up trying for them. I'm sure with the big "Down with Fur" thing and not many taking out as many Fox and Yotes by trapping it really took a hit on the bunnies!  I wrote the DNR back a few years ago and asked them about it and he said: we really don't manage the Rabbits at all. And he gave me the old "Grouse BS". Their just at the bottom of their 10 year cycle!   Seems to always be their answer!
