Brown-headed Cowbird Predation?

Birdsong

Recommended Posts

I am assuming this is a brown-headed cowbird fledgling. Much bigger than the poor chipper trying to keep him fed.

Forgive the doo-doo. It appears I need to clean the bird bath--once again. Oh look! He even has to get on his knees to be fed.

Yes, that is definately a cowbird chick. I sure wish more species could adapt quicker to recognizing this species eggs like the yellow warbler does and take appropriate action. Though it is an assumption, I suspect at least one if not more chipping sparrow young died so this one could live. Nice job catching this so well.
