Help searching on a HDS unit

Mugsaway

Question

I am using both the HDS 5 and 7. Both units have a 2009 Lakemaster chip installed.

I have searched the HSOforum and read the manual but am still having a problem (I sure hope it's not the operator!)

I can get to the menu to enter the name of the waypoint, but when I push "enter" to search it, it says "no records found".

Example: I try to search for "The graveyard", or "7 mile flat", it won't find it. The unit will/should pull from the chip?

Thanks

The chip has no waypoints on it. It has contours so you can see the structure. If you want to see those structures you need to move the cursor around the map until you find them. The search function for waypoints are for the waypoints you have previously saved. When you are on a spot you want to save you can create a waypoint name it and later you can search for it. At least this is how it works on my non HDS units and 08 chip.
