FL-18 question

I purchased the FL-18 last spring but was unable to use it on the east coast due to poor ice conditions. I am looking forward to using it next month. My question is my unit doesn't have the update installed. Since I never used the unit I don't know if it works properly or not. I would hate to lose the use of it when we finally get some Ice. Do you think I should send the unit to Vexilar before trying the unit out. I have read many concerning reports about the FL-18 on this excellant ice fishing site. Thanks for your advice, and be careful on the new ice...

You can call vexilar they will be able to tell you by the serial # if you need the update. I just got the update and it took only 5 minutes.

Go to Vexilar.com
Click "contact Us"
Give them your serial number.
They will reply within a day.

If you bought is last year, chances are it will need a update.
