Lund ignition switch wiring

Picked up a new ignition switch but the terminals are labled

differnt than the old one. I have the following wires. Can someone tell me what each color is for and i can match it up to the diagram on the switch. Yamaha motor

black

yellow

blue

brown

white

red

Usually terminals are not labeled,. They have a connector to plug into the main harness or they follow the standard wiring color code (which is what you show).

I would take it back and get a switch with a Yamaha connector, there are a couple of choices and you have to be sure you get the right one.

All the terminals were labled the same on the old and new switches except the new one did not have a terminal A, instead it was terminal I. The instructions that came with the new switch are

B = battery +

M = ground

S = solenoid

I = ignition

C = choke

M = magneto circuit

I wired it the same as the old switch was and it worked

Original Switch New Switch

C = Blue C = Blue

A = Yellow I = Yellow

M = Black M = Black

B = Red B = Red

M = White M = White

S = Blue S = Blue
