The dryer crumped out. It's only 22 years old. Won't stop and the last time it wouldn't fire up.

Well, it's the timer, right? They wanted $109 on line and so I hesitated cause I wasn't sure about the part number.

I went to the local White Bear Lake MN appliance repair shop to see about the part. The lady working the counter knew the part number just buy glancing at the one I was carrying. When she heard it was for a dryer she got the owner from out back and he told me about how the timer works on 'automatic dry' and suggested that it maybe wasn't the timer and that I should go home and put it back in and check. He didn't want to order the $88 piece unless I really needed it.

Could it get any better? BTW, I did test it per instructions and in fact it was the timer. Since the wife wanted a new dryer and a new wash machine I figure the guy saved me a bit south of $2K.
