Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

    • Do you guys with the newer CHIRP Models have any idea how long it will run on a full battery charge?  Never really fish in a situation where I wouldn't be able to recharge it overnight, but hopefully it could run all day without problems.
    • That seems like a great deal on the 7.  I was happy with $450 for the 5 at the Ice Show. When I was shopping for my 5 I found a few online retailers selling it for around $430 with free shipping, but they were all based in Florida and I wanted to be able to take it back to a store if there were any problems. Plus something doesn't seem right about buying ice fishing gear from a store in Florida. FWIW the prices I saw at the St. Paul Ice Show on the 5 was $450 from Reeds and Thorne Bros. $459 from Joes. Didn't check the Marine General booth.
    • Looks like a good buck to me Scoot, not many that big where I hunt in WI to be honest and I'd be hard pressed to let him walk even if I knew a bigger one might be in the area.
    • Yes, I've found my manuals online. Maybe I'm too old school, but still would prefer an actual booklet to page through.  I've downloaded it to my phone - otherwise I would be SOL up north in many areas as I rarely get coverage up there (and I don't really complain about that - nice to get a break from technology).
    • Ya nice to have a competent backup. Just for fun I checked on Kuemper, he is putting up great numbers for the kings but they have been hot.
    • Win some and lose some.  I wanted my million dollar idea 'Uber shovels' to take off until I found out someone is doing something similar in other states.
    • I just checked Amazon and you can get one for $16.  Another place indicated that a block heater takes up to 1500 watts and the one I checked on Amazon is good for up to 1800 watts.  Looks like it would work as far as I can tell.   So much for my business opportunity.
    • Just be sure before you make any big changes to the interior that you can get your holes in the right places without hitting cross braces.
    • From what I understand, the new g2 chirp series is a big improvement over the prior generation helix unit in terms of interference rejection and sonar definition. By sending multiple bursts of sonar at different frequencies you get finer details and less clutter. You also need to use the newest generation ice ducer to get the most detail.    I negotiated it to just under $550 which is quite a discount and it was in stock and in state so I should have it by the weekend.   I really like the new display as well. I have had lowrance units from day 1 but they don't have anything to compare to this at this price point.
    • I was looking for some input on what direction to go with my wheel house.  We did quite a bit of work on it this past summer and now it's time for some interior upgrades. I have been in a few houses and they always seemed to have semi-crappy layouts.   Here is the current layout, it's a clean slate.  I know I can save space switching heaters but stays for this year and maybe next.   The inside dimensions are 6' 6" wide by 12' long and 6' high.  I was thinking of moving the holes around and maybe adding this:
