Lowrance GPS in Canada

Recommended Posts

I have a GPS depth finder combo model 522 LMS. I have not updated the software since I purchased it in March 2008. I don't have money to invest in another lakemaster chip for Canada. The stock Lowrance map only goes north to just over 50 degrees north lattitude and then stops drawing the lake edge boundaries. Even without depth contours, this was a great navigational aid. Does anyone know if the new update will draw lake boundaries north of that line?

I could be wrong as it happens from time to time, but I don't think the updates cover mapping, i.e. updated preloaded maps. I hear you on the chip situation, but sometimes you can find them cheap in other places. Ask to borrow one if you know someone. I have a question? What lake are you referring to in Canada that is pre-loaded? I didn't even realize that Lowrance had Canadian preloaded maps.
