No Spark KTM?

My son has a 99ktm 125 sx. Last summer the engine blew so we took it to a local guy for a rebuild. He got it all back together and there was no spark and he couldn't figure out why. Anyway we got the bike back and took it to another shop and they couldn't figure it out either. They said that they narrowed it down to the cdi box and that everything else checked out ok. So...we just purchased a cdi from an online auction, used, but "from a running bike" and still no spark. We've tried a new coil as well but nothing. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If a dealership can't figure this out, I'd be looking somewhere else for service.

voltage regulator, bad plug wire, fouled plug, pick-up coil (not the actual coil) are a couple things I would consider.
