troutman
The oceanic event called "El Nino",is known to give us mid westerners a unusually mild winter and an "El Nino" has now formed in the Pacific ocean and is expected to persist and strengthen throughout the winter of 09-10.This does not bode well for early or good ice I'm afraid. Let's hope they're wrong.

toughguy
el nino may delay ice a few weeks at best. We always get enough ice to walk on. That's all I need.
