Cabelas XML rods question

Recommended Posts

I am looking into buying a Cabelas XML spinning rod, does anyone have any advice for me? It will be mainly for walleye fishing, and I spend most of my time casting jigs, lindy rigging, and trolling spinners. I want the 6 and a half foot rod, it is on sale right now, but I am trying to decide between the medium action or the medium light action. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I just purchased 2 xml spinning rods and a xmlti spinning rod. have not got them out walleye fishing yet but they feel nice. I did jig fish for bass on a local lake with one of the XML rod and liked it very much.

I like the medium weight rods.

For casting jigs and lingy rigging with light weights I'd suggest the ML rod, but if you're pulling spinners or rigging with heavier weights you will want the M action rod. The M action rod will work fine for jigging to, it's a better way to go for a multi-purpose rod.
