Talking with my wife Thursday night we decide to head to her folks in SE MN the next morning for the 4th. So I quickly call MaCalGrove golf course in Caledonia and get their extended twillight deal for friday afternoon (25 bucks, unlimited golf with a cart, tee time was at 1:00) I played 45 holes friday afternoon, yes the last 9 was the worst round I played, but my best was a 42 including 4 pars in a row (new record for me). I followed that up in Rushford the next morning walking 27 holes. 48,46 and a 54 (My legs, back and patience gave up that last 9)

I am completely overjoyed with my skycaddie gps. There were times I was firing at the green from the wrong fairway and it helped knowing how far away I was. My push cart was awesome on Saturday morning. No way would I have walked and carried my clubs for 27 holes.

Negatives: I seem to have cured my slice with a nasty hook, I think my problem is three fold: I pulled head up too quick to see where I hit the ball. Secondly I am not pausing (creating lag) at the top of my back swing. And "C", I am not releasing the club properly or making the clubhead swing out towards "first base" as my golf teacher tells me.

Man when I was swinging correctly, I was popping that ball, straight and true, and when I messed up, I really messed up....

Oh well, can't wait to get back out there this week. My kids (8 and 6) want to head out with me soon, I am thinking Cleary lake this week. they would have fun out there with that......

Just a review of my golf filled weekend

Picks! One thing i would recomend if you plan to get the kids started in golf is to take them to a pro for a lesson. AND ! Make certain you go along to watch! This will get them started off right with the basics, and DAD grin will learn too!
