For those who have or had lowrance graph's, what are your settings(sensitivity, depth etc)at to be able to show through milfoil(so the hard bottom could be found) and to show the densest parts of weed beds?

Also when the unit is set up to show through, what will the hard bottom look like(color)?.

I'm using a new Lowrance HDS this year and it has been working GREAT in shallow water and weeds, much better than I could ever get the previous LMS or LCX units to work.

With the HDS I have it set to 200 kHz and shallow water mode. You need to select the right transducer in the installation menu too. I bumped my ping speed up just a bit from the default setting. I bumped my sensitivity up 4%, and my colorline up to high 80's percent range. I change the color line based on which color palette I'm using for the screen. Hard bottom shows as a bright color with not a lot of of other color below it.

For the LCX and LMS units, I got them to work best by dropping the ping rate and the sensitivity.
