Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Authorities Search for 4 Missing Fishermen on Lake Erie

Friday, July 03, 2009

By Joshua Rhett Miller

DEVELOPING: The U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian authorities are scouring Lake Erie for four fishermen whose 19-foot boat sailed from a Michigan park a day earlier.

The men, who are between 50 and 70 years old, left Sterling Park in Monroe, Mich., Thursday morning and had planned to return by 4 p.m., Greg Fondran, a search and rescue controller at the U.S. Coast Guard's District Nine Command Center, told FOXNews.com.

Fondran said three of the four men have cell phones with them but have not answered calls by authorities. The last incoming and outgoing calls received and placed by the phones were at about noon Thursday, he said.

Weather conditions have not been severe, Fondran said, leading authorities to believe the 19-foot boat likely had not capsized or overturned.

"Though it's always possible," he continued. "You can get a rogue wave and all of a sudden, you're taken over."

Family members contacted the Coast Guard at about 9 p.m. Thursday. Boats, helicopters and other aircraft from the U.S. and Canada have been searching since that time, Fondran said.

"We're obviously concerned," he said. "We're considering it a distress case."

*crosses fingers* Let's send good thoughts the way of the fishermen and the families. I'm hoping it's a case of maybe a motor going out and not a capsized ship or anything worse.

Be careful out on water anywhere!

MONROE, Mich. — Four Michigan fishermen whose 19-foot boat capsized in western Lake Erie have been rescued.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Brandon Blackwell says Monroe County marine deputies spotted the men clinging to the boat about 5:45 p.m. Friday. They were offshore from a small island about 35 miles southeast of Detroit.

The men, who are between 52 and 76 years old, were receiving medical attention.

The fishermen left Monroe at 8 a.m. Thursday. A family member called the Coast Guard about 10 p.m.

Boats, helicopters and other aircraft from the U.S. and Canada cooperated in the search.

The wife of the boat's owner said life jackets and a GPS were on board.

Two of the fishermen are from Eaton Rapids, one is from Lansing and another is from Ch

    • On Friday morning I decided to take the scenic way home from work and stopped at Browns Creek, just north of Stillwater, to shake off the dust on my trout equipment. Wasn’t any signs of life in the stream! I’m wondering if the DNR wasn’t able to stock it before the opener due to the snow conditions?    Saturday morning I ventured down to the Vermillion River. I personally don’t care much for this river, as I don’t think it’s any good. But I a bible study in Rosemount in the afternoon, so I figured I’d give it a go. Water was high, fast and dirty. Didn’t catch anything. Neither did anyone else I talked to.   Not the start to the trout season I had hoped for
    • Just a matter of time then I would think. One of them will make a mistake and end up down the end of your gun barrel. It would keep my faith up just knowing there are that many around. Good luck.
    • Hakuna matata on my deck
    • BBD!  More to come...
    • Bought from private seller; my mistake should have been one thing to check; there is no wiggling it at all, it’s frozen in there tried torching it to no avail; put everything back together hoping I could grease and crank up and down but the zerk keeps coming off, and now it doesn’t lower at all; will have to bite the bar and bring it in
    • There is at least double the number to the left side They roost 150 yards from where my blind is 123 congrats on the bird
    • The whole flock skirted me this morning, never coming closer than 100 yds.  Stayed in the landowners back yard all morning before heading to parts unknown. Counted 7 longbeards in the bunch. Headed back now. I'm sure my blind will be surrounded when I get there. Good luck guys.
    • Holy Moses how far is that from where you are hunting? There's more strutters in that picture than I see in five years.
    •   I think they're going to be late this year
