Removable Livewell?

Recommended Posts

I have a small boat(14', 15hp), and I am wondering what people would suggest for a commercial or homemade livewell that could be put in and removed from the boat. I've seen people make them out of coolers, but don't really know how to go about it. Another option would be to hollow out one of my bench seats to put a more permanent one in.

I am looking for it as an option if my buddy and I want to fish a few little tournaments or something, not sure what the regulations are for livewells in a tournament.

I was even thinking a commercial livewell kit with a rubbermaid or something might work...

Suggestions?

I still use a cooler at times with a air pump for different bait while catfishing on the river. It works very well and doesn't cost much.

One can purchase a less expensive cooler and the air pump with air stones is very little. They do make the ones with D batteries but for the cost of the batteries, I would go with a 12v if you already have a battery in the boat.
