Treated timbers

Recommended Posts

I did a raised garden this year and had the same concerns but I found out through some searching that the way they treat the wood changed in 2004 and the new treatment method is not as bad(no more arsenic) and very little would be absorbed by the plants. If you do a search make sure to look at what type of treatment and year they are talking about to be sure you are getting the correct info. Now if it would warm up so my tomatoes could grow a little faster.

I used treated last year. They used to use arsenic (sp) but they don't anymore for the most part. Just ask at the lumber yard if they're treated with or without.
