Those dang Sunday ads!!!

13 posts in this topic

After reading the Sunday paper, I have a vent to the advertising geniuses (print ads). Who is the knucklehead who thought of the varying width pages, 1/4 pages, etc. It is a major league hassle to read-turn pages on these ads! This has been driving me nuts for months!!!! Thanks for hearing me out!

How about that stupid flap on the comics section....I just tear it off and toss it. So if they think I read it, they are wrong. crazy

It's a marketing method used to ensure that each piece is handled. If it wasn't for the supplements, there wouldn't be much reason for the local fishwrap to be delivered on Sunday. Newspapers make a fraction of a cent for each.

I've got news for them, I don't read them, they make me too upset. Hopefully, others feel the same way and they change back to the old way!

I didn't realize they still print newspapers. I only read it online these days. No flaps to deal with there.

I only read papers online and get the Sunday one just to thumb through the ads so it doesn't really bother me.

Those flaps are a pain from the production of the paper to the carrier and readers. Pressmen hate those flaps because they cause another issue in printing. Carriers hate them because they get in the way of assembly. It's just another way to get an advertiser to buy into it...hence revenue.
