Eagle Cuda 300 Question

Born2Fish

Question

Ok I have a Cuda 300 fish finder. It is fairly new. My problem with it is, when I turn it on it goes straight to the simulation screen. Now it is supposed to save all prior input and not do this. Plus it reads 755 feet in 3 feet of water(actually it reads huge depths all the time). We had gotten one prior to this and it did the same thing. This new one worked for a while, and now all the sudden just started this. It also will not show bottom. Could this be a wiring problem? Could it be a transducer problem? We have tried the master reset with no success. Does anyone have any idea how to fix or what to try?

Sounds to me like the problem is with the unit itself, since it goes to sim mode every time you power it up. I wouldn't mess with the wiring or transducer until you get that part of the problem taken care of.

That is just the thing. I have done everything I know how to do, to get this to work. I was also thinking it could just be the unit, because the first one we got did the same thing. Any suggestions on where to start with the unit? Like I said we have used the master reset a couple times. Or could this just be a bad line of fish finders?
