pikestabber
Unfortunately, I live pretty far north in MN, so my cat fishing spots are all 45 minutes or more away, and then its 3-6 pound channels only... To get me by, I chase bullheads around home--these pics are from a couple weeks ago...jig and a crawler, light rods, lots of fun! If I were to head "south" (aka, metro area) to challenge some flats, are these the right size bullheads for bait?
fishuhalik
Nope, they gotta be under 7" here in MN

fishuhalik
Hey Pikestabber, I'm from Itasca area (nashwauk). Where'd you get the bullies at?
JimBuck
I suggest cutting those bullies up and using them for cut bait if you haven't already thrown them out/cooked em'. Those are some large bullies!
pikestabber
Well, it would be a bit of a drive for you from Nashwauk... I live in Grand Rapids, but I grew up in--and mostly still fish around--Deer River. These were caught near the bridge at Cutfoot Sioux. I usually smoke the bigger ones and fry the littler ones. As far as cutbait, always cut off the "mud," or red back on these fish that connects to the skin, then use these fleshy skin pieces as cat bait.
