Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Anyone else ever get into a bad pack of these hooks? I was out last weekend useing 3/0 Superlines and bent every hook out of a pack on the first fish. Never had this problem before.

The superline hooks bent? Wow! Just the thin gammy hooks have bent on me. I seem to get snagged in trees often.

I use them all the time and never had a problem. Had to be a bad batch because you would have a hard time bending a hook of that guage.

I would agree on the bad batch theory. Never had a problem with a superline hook. Pack em up and send them back to Gamakatsu for a look. They should send you a new pack if their customer service is worth a hoot.

Yeah, I've been using them for probably 5 years and have never had a problem, then every hook in one pack bends on the first hookset. It was frustrating, I lost what would have been the best fish of the day on the second hook. I thought the first one was a fluke.

it happened to my buddy last year and he just emailed them a pic of the hooks and told them what happened and he got a free pac of hooks in a couple weeks. its worth a try before you pay for postage

I've never been a fan of gamakatsu hooks. The hook points roll over or bend very easily. I have been using mustad ultra points for years now.

    • I love my custom Adam Bricker rods.  The guy just makes rods that look, feel, and preform well. Plus he has some really great options like a rod butt that pops out the back with a fish hook remover. You can also get the option of being able to change out blanks if you want. Which comes in handy if a guy goes from panfishing to walleyes. Plus he stands behind his work. The guy is an artist when it comes to building rods not only with looks, but preformance & function. Nothing else comes close to what he builds. With that being said, I do consider them a luxury item.   I have a slight addiction and have about 50 open water rods and 40 ice fishing rods, that range from cheap to expensive.  rl_sd pretty much said it all though. For $30 or less a guy can get a solid ice rod combo that preforms just fine. One of my favorite ice rods is a south bend Rod and reel combo I picked up for $25. It has an 8 ball Bering reel and a ML Rod that works well for perch and walleye.
    • Minnesota, Merica, and the World commie boy!
    • Yep.  Before we were married, camped at fall lake MEA weekend.  In a tent.  Snow falling in the cornflakes.   I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.  Or something like that.  Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy.
