A Call for Drums

Recommended Posts

I think that one was about 34 or 36” and around 18lbs. John (wastewaterguru) caught that one a fairly large bullhead while catfishing on the MN smile

I think Pierbridge has a picture of an even bigger one.

I was shore fishing the river a while ago and saw a guy pull up the biggest drum I have ever seen. He let me take a picture of him w/ the fish... Doesnt seem that big any more now that I've seen wastewaterguru's fish but still bigger than average

I was curious, so I looked up the state record. After looking at the drum I looked at some other records. We really do live in a fishing paradise in MN.

A couple of the records did surprise me, though. Namely warmouth and white bass. The record is only 18.5". It seems I see pics of 18-20" white bass on FM every year. And I've caught several warmouth over 9", the record is only 7.5".
