MuskieJunkie
My friend has a 2000 Evinrude 40 HP 4 stroke FI motor (made by suzuki I think). Is the indicator stream on that motor the same as most motors, a strong high pressure shot? His has always just dribbled out (bought it used), he ran it for the first 2 sesasons like that (even though I told him not to). Now he just got the impeller changed and it does the same thing. Thanks for the help.
para1911
My dealer told me it was normal to have a minimal dribble at idle on my 1998 15 hp 4 stroke Johnson. Something about these motors not having a restrictor in the cooling system. He said as long as there is a good stream coming out at higher RPMs it's fine. Maybe the 40 hp is similar??? marine_man
I'd make sure the telltale indicator is cleared of debris...marine_man
