Wood Ticks

7 posts in this topic

We got into a large amount of wood ticks during our last camping trip. They were thick even in the short cut grass, walking to the fire pit and back would get you 2 or 3. Besides wearing bug spray, is there anything else you can do about them? Thanks for any suggestions.

Wear long underwear and tall socks. That's about all I could do last weekend in Canada. We stopped for shore lunch on an island and were covered in a matter of minutes.

Buy some permethryn spray. Had a big problem with ticks and that took care of it right away.

The wood ticks this year have been the worst that I can ever remember, I really don’t think that there is much one can do to keep them off, they will thin out as soon as it warms up some.

They have been bad this year.

I took the dog out for a little run in the wood and we both where covered.
