GPS screen cleaning

I have tried 50/50 alcohol/water, and some commercial lens cleaners, but can't seem to keep the water spots from appearing on my screens. Another thread mentioned 50/50 vinegar/water works. Any other suggestions that have worked well for people?

I use 10%-20% white vinegar and water. It works great at cleaning the screens - it doesn't do anything to stop water spots from coming back as soon as the screens get wet again though.

You can also try the the cleaner cloths they make for LCD monitors. They come in a container like Clorox Wipes do.

I polished mine up with crest toothpaste and then placed a film cover over it.

Screen protectors work great on my garmins.

Is a screen protector the same as the film cover that Harvey refers to? Is this the same type of film they put over cell phones and such that you're supposed to peel off? Where do I get?

Yes they are the same screen protectors.I found some for my garmins on the big auction site that starts with an E.

The windshield treatments like Rain-X help a lot. I use it on the windshield of my sled and GPS screens. It is a pain to apply properly but it really works.

Water spots are part of the game. I have to clean mine a few times a week. I also use a screen protector.
