Even though Brushy Creek is near the center of the state it is found in fishing reports through NW Iowa so here is a report from Sudnay.

We went out Sunday morning and fished until 5. We went after panfish and found the gills to be in about 3-6 feet of water. they were not on the beds yet, but are getting close as the old beds were not fanned out yet. We ended up with 34 and tossed back several, including all females as they are about ready to burst from all the eggs. They seemed to like waxworms a little better than the crawlers.

We did not find the crappie as they were in about 8-10 feet of water and really try for them, but I believe there were some being caught. We did see a few real nice green carp(bass) up real tight to the bank.

We were stopped and checked by the CO and he had a bunch of great info about where they were biting and depths. It was good to see them out there, he actually only asked to see out life jackets and throw cushion.

Overall a real nice day out on the lake.
