Congrats to this guy:

Man fathers 21 children by 11 different women... and he's only 29

By Paul Thompson

Last updated at 3:04 AM on 29th May 2009

A man aged 29 has fathered 21 children with 11 different women, it emerged yesterday.

Desmond Hatchett's brood came to light after authorities in Tennessee in the U.S. took him to court for non-payment of child support.

He has apparently set a U.S. record but said: 'It just happened.'

He's the daddy: Desmond Hatchett speaks to reporters about his prolific brood

He added that he would not have any more children. 'I'm done. I'll say I'm done,' he said.

Hatchett, who earns a minimal wage, told TV reporters he knows the names and ages of all his offspring.

Their ages range from newborn to 11 years old.

Authorities in Knoxville said they plan to take half of his monthly salary to pay for the youngsters but officials said that would work out to just over £1 a week for each.

His lawyer Keith Pope said: 'The children can't all be supported by Desmond, so the state of Tennessee has had to step in.'

Many Knoxville residents called for him to be castrated.

He even boasted of fathering four children by different women in the same year.

Hatchett's name appeared on court documents 11 times representing 15 of his 21 children.

U.S. authorities are now braced for more women coming forward to claim Hatchett is the father of their children after he appeared on local TV.

He said the women he was involved with all knew he had other children.

One mother, who has two children with Hatchett, said she should get £44 a month but rarely receives any child support.

'It's frustrating, but usually, when I ask he gives it to me,' she said.

Authorities in Knoxville ordered Hatchett to court to explain how he intends to pay child support.

He arrived for the hearing with just over £300.

I bet you former NBA player Shawn Kemp has him beat. Only thing is that his chidren are all across the country...mostly in NBA cities. Between these two I think they could go to an island and start a new country. Add Pitt/Jolie and you would have your perfect nation with cultural diversity.

I feel for the kids, but when two consenting adults (it takes two) decide to do something legal, what can you do.

I see a new reality TV show coming soon about this and a rush to break the current record and get on TV to follow smirk

This is hilarious. [Admin Note: PoorWordUsage. Read Forum Policy before posting again. Thanks] I think we can get enough people on here to throw in a buck or two to pay for this guy's castration.

That's straight up child abuse. More wasted tax money because we have a few retards out there that do thing only thing they are smart of enough to, reproduce in mass.

I really hope this doesn't get a reality show. We don't want s any stupid lazy ****bags out there thinking this is the way to get famous.

The worst part of this is that I used to know a guy who was on social security disability because of his night blindness. He gloated because he had 5 kids with 3 women in 4 years. He's proudest accomplishment was having 2 on back to back 1 night stands. I haven't heard anything of this guy in a few years but last word was his gf was pregnant with twins. His kids are all screwed up. One was in Juvi, another was locked into a long term mental health facility, another was about to stand trial for attempted murder and another was in for drug rehab. All are under the age of 14.

Here's what makes me sick on this. There are so many good folks that want children and can't have them. To go through adoption you have to go throuigh hours upon hours of parenting classes. Then you have to be "Selected" to receive a child.

Guys like this have how many kids? And don't own up for them. Sickens me.

It's a cycle in life. All these kids and the kids of the guy being talked about is the next generation that will continue on with it. And unfortuanetly there is little we or any one else can do to prevent it from going on. And the trouble is that most in this, I hate to use the word. (Class of Citizens)!! Are taught or find out some how that we and the government are there to help them in the end.

Welfare,Food Stamps, can't recall the name of free medical help for low income and the list goes on. You see where I'm going tho. Yes these programs are needed to a point, but who out there hasn't heard a story how people use the system and beat it to stay on it.

My 2 cents worth

We can hope this guy gets hit by a bus one day. We would all be better off.

Yup. And those of us who chose to only have 2-3 kids, buckle up. They will outvote the productive class by voting themselves other peoples' wealth.

Only question is-- "why would anyone want that many kids--stupid or not???" eekeekeekeekeekeek Sounds like he needs a little edjacating.. Doesn't know how this could happen confusedconfused.

whistlewhistle

Then you got the mentally challenged (couldn't use the word I wanted) females who are actually reproducing with this guy???? They may need some edjacatin, too...

I think these gals got plenty of education. Whats the difference between this and people taking fertility drugs and ending up with 4 to 6 or 8 kids in one shot, pun intended.

Margaret Sanger(the first to coin the phrase "birth control" in 1926) be turning over in her grave over this guy and gals.

After seeing stories like this and stories like the octoleach it really test my beliefs. Maybe the Malthusian notion is the rout to go, though it goes against my principles but its nice to dream of that utopian society that will never happen as it would be at someone else's expense to achieve it. Who knows history sometimes repeats itself and eugenics makes a come back under even more secretive totalitarian ways.

DNA tests done? I smell welfare fraud. This downright stinks of welfare fraid. What an easy way out. Lets all claim he's the dad it's already big news welfare workers will be jumping over themselves to help any of the women claiming to be in on this one. I'm sure the number will grow yet until someone says hey wait a minute something isn't adding up here. Somebody with an inside connection is orchestrating this one.

    • Thanks to Ufatz, I didn't have to make a wasted trip to my mailbox today...
    • YES, they DO shut down if not enough oxygen. Been dealing with that one for almost 15  years of teaching this. They DO NOT have a CO shutoff, that's what I'm trying to hammer into peoples heads. That's what all thermocouples do, shut the gas valve.  A thermocouple is a safety device for some gas appliances. One end of the thermocouple is heated by a pilot flame, and the other end is connected to a gas valve. As long as the pilot light stays lit, the thermocouple holds the gas valve open and lets gas flow to the main burner of the appliance. The sensor on the end of the thermocouple is heated by the flame of the pilot light. The heat generated is converted into micro volts of electricity. This Electricity is enough to open a tiny magnet in the gas valve, and allow the gas to flow. If the pilot light was to blow out, then the sensor on the Thermocouple cools, and then closes the gas valve to the burner. This ensures that when the pilot flame goes out, Gas cannot escape from the pilot. It is automatically shut down.  That's how it works....if there isn't enough O to support the pilot, you might as well hang it up. They've been petitioned to remove their "low oxygen shut off" from their labeling. Best they did was re-word it.
    • I believe the v-fronts help, but there is always the vacuum on the flat back-end.  I have had both am always surprised by what I'd call the rear drag.
    • Do buddy heaters even have a low oxygen / CO shut off?  My understanding is they have a thermocouple that kills the gas flow if it's not lit, but it will burn as long as there is a pilot light and enough O2 for combustion, which is probably less O2 than what it would take to make you feel like dump.  And even if O2 levels are high, CO can still be off the chart.   Do people get a lot of alarms going off?  Seems like there is going to be CO in my porty just from the buddy heater going even if the conc is well below a danger level.  I figured those things were calibrated for use in places like your house which should be right at about 0ppm, unless it's right next to the furnace.   In a related story, my MIL was house sitting for a friend when the CO detector went off.  She opened some windows and went outside but started getting a headache, naseous, light headed, weak, dizzy, all sorts of symptoms.  Called 911.  Fire department rolled out, ambulance sent.... And the detector was alarming because the battery was almost dead.  CO levels were at 0ppm.
    • I'll wait patiently on memorial day, veteran's day, the 4th of July, 9/11, Xmas, new years, labor day, or any of the other federally recognized holidays for you to throw up another post with no point.
    • Thinking about building a new Fish House.   Does a "V" Front really make that big of a difference in towing?   Campers aren't "V" front so just wondering. I think I could utilize space a lot better with a regular square front.
    • Did you ever weigh the house?
    • Thanks for the reminder.  The trash goes to the road tonight for tomorrow's pick up.  I'll drag it down the driveway on my way to the lake.
    • Had to bring the wife back last night anyway but a 3 day run woulda been nice.  I got to play with and feed our granddaughter, get ice gear thawed out and recharge batteries, making lunch and gonna head out for the evening bite.   I have a dream!
    • Thanks Rebelss. You just can't emphasize the importance of a C/O alarm especially with the new fish  houses being built so tight. My service man just ran into a B/O furnace on a no heat after hours call.  Home owner was very lucky and of course no alarm.
