Gold Finch, Yellow Warbler, female Redwing...

5 posts in this topic

Pretty, Stu. The warbler has much less marking on the breast than the guy hanging around here. Love the redwing, too. Out of curiosity, do you have a shot with more of the old cattail environment in it? I really like the detail in the front tails, and the blurred ones in the background. Perfect for what I have been looking for.

Thanks Sarah! I'd be happy to help out, what exactly are you looking for?

That is generous. I am looking for more of what you have above, a little wider point of view with that same depth of field. It's beautiful. I thought maybe there was a bit more of it before cropping. I have been looking for the right spot and just the right feeling. But keep in mind, before you volunteer, that it is for a painting, though I do not sell or show. They say to "paint what you know," so I am doing a series from right near by, where I walk the dog, but they are mowing most of my beautiful last season cattails!!! I am new enough to painting that I still do a little better with a photo to start out from, and would love to purchase it from you if you have one. That depth of field and coloring are perfect for what I had in mind. Thanks if you are still willing!!!

    • Bernie has not a lick of common sense. He appeals mainly to those fuzzy-brained dreamers and of course that includes many of today's youth,   who despite having great school systems, cannot learn much more than how to operate a cell-phone. A thoughtful politician can dream when he's having a snort or sitting in a duck blind or golfing but when the tires hit the road he's gotta function within some realistic parameters.  Bernie can't do that. Nothing personal Bernie, but it's time to go home and sit down-the election is over and nobody will be interested in you next time.
    • Still best smoked, as they are an oily fish, too.
    • I am having the same issue with mine. I believe it's a gen 2 that's 2 years old but only been out 3 times now. Took it out last weekend for the first time this year and the hose was stiff and the fittings leaked. I contacted jiffy and they said it needed to go to a service center to be repaired. I called the service center and they would have to order the part anyway. I've tried finding the hose around town but everywhere is sold out. That's definitely going to put a damper on the nice weekend coming up. I'm really kicking myself for going with the propane and not an Ion. This auger was my first experience with jiffy after having and Eskimo and strikemaster. My strikemaster was the 3 blade that had some issues with bending the blades. I called them to find out if there was a replacement that I could buy and they ended up swapping it for free and this was after having it for 6-8 years. I'm very disappointed in the service from jiffy on a 2 year old auger with defective parts.
    • For me Tullies have always been rather strong flavored. Always needed a lot of smoke to cover that up.
    • Looking forward to the results of your experiment.
    • And now today is Wednesday.  So There.
    • a quick blurry shot and off they went. still trying to get them together in a good shot. maybe some day.
    • I posted that several days ago, although if you know what interest rates will be doing over the next several years you have better ways to spend your time than posting here.    You would no longer have to work for a living for sure.     To refresh your memory, the 9.1 trillion that you and Rand Paul are so upset about would not increase the debt to GDP ratio, assuming a 5% growth in Nominal GDP, which would be 3% growth and 2% inflation.      Do you have a figure for acceptable level of Debt to GDP?
