Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

    • I know someone who has one for his yard and it works ok for that. I have an older Western unimount on my Jeep Wrangler. It's only 6.5' wide but it is perfect for what I do and it moves more snow than I ever planned to move. I think I paid $1200 for it.   The one thing you will miss is the ability to lift and tilt it. Especially if the snow gets harder or deeper.   As far as driving with it. Mine will cause an overheat if I raise it all the way up. I need to keep it at about half way up and I also turn off the overdrive to help the transmission.   I think it might get old to keep hooking and unhooking it and I'm not sure how easy they are to get in and out of the receiver in the cold and snow. I think they are better if you are in a garage and can have a hand hooking them up.
    •   So, how are the 4 wheeler in the summer? Will you be back with a report about them and the mud and ruts they leave on your driveway this summer?  If your not going to get involved for your property issue, it's hard to get others to care either.
    • Had over 2 ' here in the last week. Blower & plow on wheeler, so not much shoveling. Good thing!
    •   Mmmmmm.......I haven't had duck in a coon's age.
    •   Any chance you could post some pictures so we could see how it is set up?     I don't understand. Are you saying that a snowmobiler riding the ditch should go up onto a highway every time they encounter a driveway? Please keep in mind, If you live on a state or county road it is actually illegal for the snowmobile to operate on the inside slope, shoulder or roadway.     You do if you want any chance of solving your problem.
    • Has anyone been to this resort? I am looking for a new place to go for a trip in June. I have heard pretty good things about the fishing and the lodge but have only spoke to one person with first hand knowledge. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,   Bryan
    • I’ve shoveled the end of the driveway four times today. I left the shovel down there for them. No one has used it after crossing. Thankfully it’s melting time next week.  Standing down there and one of them pulls up onto the mound, stops, rips off and throws all the snow back. Our driveway is uphill. Without that space, the car doesn’t get up. Plus, just another pile for the homeowner.   Before this weekends snow, it had melted down to the grass. Yep. Grass dragging ditch riders we had. Luckily there’s enough ice on the driveway on most spots. Everyone is right about it being a right of way...common courtesy to pull up onto the highway seems to have been lost. This gives snowmobiles a bad name.  I shouldn’t need to call the ‘club.’ They can see my driveway when they fly over it....get the problem?  Not everyone is ripping through like this. Some obviously have respect and work over the snow easy.
    • Looking at throwing a front hitch on my truck and picking up a plow, mostly for my house and a couple others within a few miles of me.  Would also like to bring it to the Cabin a few times a year but they all say max travel speed is 45 mph.  Is this just due to over heating or are there other issues it could cause?  Curious if I could just throw it on the rear hitch for highway driving.  That would solve the overheating issue. I have a trailer if needed but would rather not have to drag that around if I don’t have to.
    • Cub, at least the one in Inver Grove Heights has been having whole frozen ducks for 99 cents/pound. I went back and got a couple more yesterday.
    •   Drove home from the Park and Go last night  at 11:30. (after digging out) *grumble grumble*
