Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Big Break

Who's been watching the Big Break?

That guy Brian cracks me up. I hope he make's it a little longer, although I don't think he will, just 'cause I like listening to his boastful babble during the little interviews.

I was watching it last night and the guy really bothers me....."Natural swing, natural shot, blah blah blah....." I would have a hard time playing 9 holes let alone 18 holes with a guy like that without leaving the course

Pretty sure one of the ladies is going to win it, although the "Girl Brian" from Ireland needs to go soon, she needs one of those flashing neon signs above her heard that reads "Abi Normal"

(just a random young frankenstein reference)

I agree that dude is SO into himself. Each time he hits a shot 40 feet past the hole its because he "hit it too pure" !!

What a doofus. I remember watching the very first big break - boy have they come a long ways now! They get 2K for just winning one hole against one competitor! The first guys got the shaft! They are now pampered way beyond belief - but it is a fun show to watch. I kind of like gerena - she hits it long and is very easy on the eyes.

Yea, I liked Brian's comment, "I'm much, much better than half the guys on tour."

See ya, Brian!!

    • Same here I set the blind where they like to be. Even if that is in the middle of a 500 acre sod field.
    • It just gives me more time to pass on the addiction to anyone I can be to come out.
    •     Yep pop it up and hunt they work great.
    • Fletcher is gone, pretty impartial to this, will be interesting to see who they bring in and what they do to shake up the team. Overall I think he was a good gm but not great, pulled us out of the dark ages but never seemed to get us over the hump. New GM will have a much better starting point as far as players and assets go.  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2018/04/23/wild-split-with-gm-chuck-fletcher-after-playoff-exit/34168091/
    • I made some maybe 5 years ago and put one on a tree and the other at the end peak on a garage. The one on the garage had bats in the first year, the one on the tree finally had some in last year. 2 different designs so that may have made a difference. I made 1 for my daughter 3 years ago and put it on the garage and they used it the 2nd year. Mine are black- hers a dark brown. Don't put them in an area where bat dump can be a problem.  Good luck with them.
    •   Thanks. I get a kick out of people saying they need to brush in their blinds.  This was right in the middle of a corn field on it's highest spot, as visible as can be.
    •   Congrats Don, like the corn field picture.
    • Yep, excellent suggestions fellas!  If it's nice out this evening (supposed to be) we're going to go give it a try.  I'll bring lots of snacks, camera, binocs, and maybe even a tablet for her to play on.
    • Not exactly bird related, but close enough. Do any of you have a bat house? I want to get one, but don’t exactly know where to put it. I see that DNR mounts them on long polls at boat launches and campgrounds, but I don’t really want to go that route. I’m wondering if a tree, or the side of my garage would suffice? Is there any benefits to painting them black? And how successful are they at attracting bats? How long did it take for them to show up? Amazon sells bat house attractant, but it’s pretty spendy.
