Duffer
What do you consider a good eater walleye and at what size do u tend to throw back. I would say throw back anything over 20" I could see keeping over in certain circumstances.
OnAFly
If there is no slot enforced, I go 14-19. The rest go back.
tunrevir
Most of my eater fish fall in the 15-20" range with the rest tossed back both above and below that range.Tunrevir~

Esox_Magnum
17-24 are the prime females, my keep slot is 14-17.
fishwater
I like to eat walleye under 18", anything bigger than that and it's real hard getting the breading to meat ratio in the desired range...
hunterjoe
Under 18" if I'm catching some to eat. I think anything over that gets a "fishy" taste. I'm a little picky with my fish anyways. I love to catch them, so most of the time they all go back.
jwmiller33
i think the best eaters are the 15-16 inchers. i only keep 15-18inchers. the big ones need to go back so we can keep their genes going for the population
Drewski
I will keep 13-18"ers. Anything larger/smaller gets to swim another day!
CarpKing921
13-16" I like the smaller fillets. If they are bigger I'll fillet the fillet. Give me that fillet o fish give me that fish

lunge
everything, unless its 15lbs and a min of 35", then even might get a replica
gunflint
Depends on the lake and the state of the walleyes in that lake. Some lakes I'll keep 13s to 19, other lakes 16 to 19.
Charley
Anything under 16" isn't worth keeping.
Islandlaker
Well the lake that I fish on you mostly get 13 inchers... So my range is 13-18 anything over or under goes back.
ANYFISH2
14-20 or 30+ (for a trophy)inches for keeping, everything else swims.

LMITOUT
What do you consider a good eater walleye and at what size do u tend to throw back. 15-18" are good for eating. With that said, I throw 99% of all sizes back. I might keep a couple in the winter or right after the opener when the water is cool, but after that it's C&R. Not much of a fish eater...just a catcher. Mike Walerak
I basically throw them all back. I don't really care for fish that much believe it or not. I got a little burnt out on it in college. I think I ate fish everyday for 2 years.
harvey lee
My eater eyes are 15-20 inches. I don't keep anything over 20 and if I hook up with a trophy, it will be a reproduction done.
canman
My eaters typically are 14-20. It just depends on the lake. Many of the lakes I fish are stocked lakes with no reproduction. Some of those lakes have trophies, but not typically. If I'm on a trophy lake, then for sure all above 20 go back. Good thing the DNR stocks many lakes for us.
